High Frequency Welded Solid Finned Tube As Per ASTM A192
- ASTM A192 Standard Specification for Seamless Carbon Steel Boiler Tubes for High-Pressure Service
ASTM A192/ASME SA192 specifies minimum wall thickness, seamless carbon steel boilers, and superheater tubes for high-pressure use. The steel must meet the chemical composition requirements for carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, and silicon. The hardness number of the tubes must not exceed a certain value. Mechanical tests, including flattening, flaring, hardness, and hydrostatic testing, must be performed.
The tubing sizes and thicknesses specified by ASTM A192/ASME SA192 are 1/2 in. to 7 in. [12.7 to 177.8 mm] outside diameter and 0.085 to 1.000 in. [2.2 to 25.4 mm], inclusive, in minimum wall thickness. Other dimensions of tubing may be supplied, provided they meet all other requirements of this specification.
